I’d like to start working on a digital smart lock prototype but I am very clueless of what to do and how to start. My college kept delaying the explanations of how to create such prototypes and I really need some guidance. Please help me.

I must make a prototype of a smart lock that uses Arduino UNO, the lock should be disabled when I press a button. Can you please help me? I’d appreciate it greatly.
A good idea is to go with RFID instead of a button so here is a good tutorial that I have used in the past month and I found it helpful.
